With the leaves gone and the natural landscape stripped down to its essential structures, winter is actually a great time to learn how to identify trees and plants by their bark, buds, shape, and other distinguishing features.

Join us in this cool collaboration with the Licking Park District. You'll get hands-on experience in identifying these traits and learn how nature operates during the colder months. It’s also a fun way to stay connected with the outdoors during the winter season. Studies have shown that spending time in nature is beneficial for mental health!

Pets are not allowed as per park rules.

Footwear suitable for wet weather is highly recommended.

Lead By Chef Lorenzo Tavani

The walk is perfect for beginners and those wanting to learn more about the plants around them. A little taste of something special may be included at the end of the class.

ABOUT LORENZO TAVANI

Lorenzo is a private chef and forager, who hosts foraging experiences and has an in-home meal prep service in Central Ohio. He has worked on farms and in restaurants while studying plants and mushrooms, which led to a deeper connection to his food than he even knew possible. The positive impact this connection made, has inspired him to teach others what he knows, in a laid back, fun and informative way.
